BIO:
Hello! My name is Devan Wright! I got started doing hair in high school, usually something punky or edgy, almost always done in someone's bathroom. After years of aimless wandering, I realized, Hey, I'm not so bad at this hair thing, maybe I can make a career out of it. The crazy thing is, I fell in love with parts of this process I didn't expect: the collaboration between client and stylist, and the connection with people that can stretch past small talk. I joke that 80% of my job is being a translator, but it's true. Communication is the cornerstone of a great experience, and so that is something I pride myself on as a service provider.
When it comes to styles, I love working with texture, whether that's waves or curls, and I love thinking outside the box when crafting a cut for you. That doesn't mean you have to look like a rock star, but you should feel like one. I prefer using a razor for most of my cuts, but I am equally adept with scissors and clippers. Most of my styles are meant to be worn air-dried, but I know a lot of tips and tricks with a blow dryer that can put the cherry on top of your look.
When it comes to people, I want to let you know that my chair is a judgment free, inclusive space. Whether that's LGBTQ, BIPoC, or neurodivergent I want you to feel like a person that deserves respect. As an adult-diagnosed autistic individual, sensory sensitivities are a big reason I moved away from a busy salon environment to a suite. Whether it's sounds, sights, or smells, please don't hesitate to ask for accommodations.
